How To Get To Antorus The Burning Throne
Blizzard aren't quite done with Legion, and the final raid is out now. A new in-game cinematic has already been pulled out, and a lore drop is expected as soon as the dataminers get their paws on it. The final Mythic progression race will begin next week.
The next WoW expansion is Battle for Azeroth, but patch 7.3.5 will appear before that.
Antorus raid release date
Antorus, The Burning Throne goes live for all players during the week of November 28 resets (so November 29 for EU, November 30 in China). That's today!
Here's what a November 28 release means for various other modes (US-based, add a day or two for your region):
- December 6: Mythic difficulty and Raid Finder wing 1
- December 20: Raid Finder wing 2
- January 3: Raid Finder wing 3
- January 17: Raid Finder wing 4
All these will go live with normal server resets, early in the morning on release day, if you want to get in there as soon as possible. There will also likely be a couple of introductory quests to guide you in.
Antorus raid guide
Three options here. The in-game dungeon journal has been live since patch 7.3 hit the servers, and it'll likely be enough to run you through normal if you prefer the no-spoilers approach. Hey, just in case right? Admittedly if you're reading this section, that's probably not for you.
The WoW subreddit hosted this fairly simple guidewith nice graphics and explanations of where to stand and what to do. Those who prefer the paint art of the minimalist guides, which served me incredibly well during Emerald Nightmare especially, can find the latest over on MMO-Champion. That link should also update to the latest version whenever improvements are made – likely once the raid has launched and new mechanics are better understood.
Finally, Wowhead have in-depth Antorus guides for everything from achievement hunting to how to beat bosses on every difficulty. Don't expect to swan through Mythic next week just with those to help you, but it's the most in-depth stuff available. Including vital information likehow the hell to get in there.
Argus, the Unmaker
A quick note here to say that the final boss, the living embodiment of the planet Argus itself, has secret phases on Mythic difficulty which we know absolutely nothing about so far. Gul'dan had similar, as did various other bosses through WoW's history, and they're always pretty mad. Expect news about those to leak out once a batch of different guilds are fighting him.
Wowheadhave highlighted some new datamined abilities, which suggest Sargeras might be getting a bit more personal with the raid as his champions start to fail. They've now also found a transformation ability and a second model forthe secret phase, andMMO-Championgrabbed his boss fight music.
Antorus ending cinematic
Wowhead have provided a look at the opening cinematic that you'll see before the raid plays out, as well as the closing scene that occurs after defeating Argus. Naturally, spoilers abound.
As a result of what happens in that closing cinematic, there are some big changes to one of Azeroth's old-world zones. Again, major spoiler warning – but if you want a preview of what will change once you've conquered the raid, check out Wowhead's extensive screenshots of the differences.
Antorus progress race
We'll need to wait for Mythic to launch before this really kicks off. Favourites to win the race are Method after they were so dominant in Tomb of Sargeras and Exorsus, Serenity and other favourites failed to compete properly. The top Chinese guild wasn't far behind and also streamed all their progress, so expect to see that again once people start hitting roadblocks.
On page two there are details of what was discovered during patch 7.3.2 datamining, including some lead-up events for Battle for Azeroth.
WoW Patch 7.3.2 livestreams
There was a livestream during 7.3.2's public development, although it didn't go into very much detail on the patch or raid. Still, it's embedded below:

WoW Patch 7.3.2 Silithus
The major element of the patch is a post-Antorus quest which seems to lead directly into the next expansion, while simultaneously confusing what it may be about. Note this will get into heavy spoilers very quickly, so skip this section if you want to experience everything in-game.
As part of the final Antorus encounter, which is a fight against an incarnation of the planet itself and you can read more about it below, Azeroth itself will take an impact. This opens "The Wound" in Silithus, one of WoW's least-used zones since the last time it was relevant during vanilla. Khadgar will send you to investigate, with this explanatory dialogue:
Cheers dad, we'll make sure to get right on that, it doesn't sound horrifying at all. Wowhead have the datamined map of what the area will look like. More nefarious means have also lead to videos and screenshots of the area itself, showing just how large the wound is, although the area is clearly pretty unfinished. There are no NPCs in the area, although game files suggest there are phased areas of the map for each faction.
A hastily updated store description for BlizzCon also hinted at what was happening, involving Sargeras driving his sword into Azeroth to unleash, or even try to destroy, what lies beneath. Exciting.
It's pretty clear this quest will trigger only once you've defeated the Antorus raid, although will likely unlock for everyone eventually – much like Argus hanging in the sky did for those that finished Tomb of Sargeras. As for how the quest will progress, whether there are more phases to it beyond going and taking it look, remains to be seen.
My WoW lore is not the best, but Silithus is heavily tied to the Old Gods, being where C'Thun and chums hung out for the Ahn'Qiraj raids more than ten years ago. Old Gods are heavily hinted and rumoured to be the main antagonists of the next expansion. However, there are a number of plot threads that could also work, and Khadgar's mention of bad guys converging on the wound to find a way to power up could be any one of a dozen factions that haven't been totally wiped out. Jaina wanting to wipe out the Horde, for example.
Now that the patch is out, it would seem that we'll be waiting until 7.3.5 before we get to access this plotline. That will be on PTR "soon."
WoW Patch 7.3.2 Antorus raid
The main purpose of 7.3.2 is prepping the servers for the release of Antorus. All but one of the bosses, as well as the rest of the raid, were datamined, tested and mostly figured out during the 7.3 PTR. When that hit live servers, the description and move list of the final boss was still left blank, as his very identity is considered a bit of a spoiler. That's now up for all to see.
Argus the Unmaker, a very unhappy Titan who is corrupted to the core, spends much of the fight beating up players as you might expect, with a diverse set of abilities. However, upon entering his fourth phase – and this is just on Heroic, nevermind the usually longer and harder Mythic version – he kills everyone dead. At that point, the various other Titans who are helping you out resurrect you and give you one more shot at the prize. They continue to provide support, resurrecting players as they die via a giant tree – but the tree dies if you do it too much. Expect to be standing up and lying down quite a lot through phase four.
Unless, of course, you're playing on Mythic. That goes roughly the same up until phase three, when Argus is meant to be powered down a little (at least lore-wise, if not in his damage). On Mythic, the encounter description simply reads "or so it seems" with no further explanation of what players might face. Wowhead have highlighted some new datamined abilities, which suggest Sargeras might be getting a bit more personal with the raid as his champions start to fail. They've now also found a transformation ability and a second model for the secret phase, and MMO-Champion grabbed his boss fight music.
It's become pretty clear that we'll be seeing a lot more streaming of high-tier raiding now that the world first race isn't quite as competitive. Expect to learn about this secret phase a lot faster than normal – especially as it seems to be about half the fight.
The full Argus dungeon journal entry has been transcribed over on MMO-Champion, with slight updates detailed in that Wowhead post.

WoW Patch 7.3.2 legendaries
There's no new traditional legendaries coming in this patch, although access to Argus will finally allow people to get the Insignia of the Grand Army from the quest to finish the raid. The final boss will also drop Aman'Thul's Vision, an item level 1,000 Trinket akin to the Arcanocrystal.
You will be able to increase your legendary item level to 1000, using Awoken Titan Essence, similar to the last time we upgraded them with Stabilized Titan Essence. Wakening Essences drop from weekly Order Hall caches, Antorus bosses, Emissary bags, first random heroics, weekly PvP quests, and a one-time from a story quest. Amounts are in flux, but you need 50 to upgrade one legendary and you'll get 30 just by logging in assuming you did a Mythic the week before. Basically: your main two legos should be easy to upgrade, and the rest will flow in time.
There are also legendary tokens being added. Despite initial hype as a catch-up system or a way to choose which Legendary you receive, they're actually an item that only drops for people who have already received every legendary available to their class. They can be passed to alts to help them to gear up.
Patch 7.3.2 Antorus trinkets
As far as loot in general, Argus the Unmaker drops a series of trinkets that have a mysterious trigger relating to being "empowered by the Pantheon." Basically, once four of the trinkets proc in your raid within a short time period, everyone with one of the trinkets gets the secondary effect. This is only active in the Antorus raid zone, so won't be mandatory for pushing Mythic+ keys, but it will be a slow soft-nerf to the raid itself as more and more raid members get trinkets and increase the uptime of the buff.
Each kill of Argus will also give you an item that lets you upgrade one of these trinkets by 5 ilevels, up to a max of 1,000. Wowhead have laid out the entire, slightly confusing system, as it currently stands. This has seen iteration because Aman'Thul's Vision is far more powerful than other varients for most caster classes and specs.
WoW Patch 7.3.2 Primal Sargerite vendor
Much like the Blood of Sargeras vendor added during the course of the expansion, there will be a Primal Sargerite vendor on the Vindicaar. You'll be able to trade one Primal Sargerite for a stack of 10 Argus herbs, ore, cloth or leather, or 10 Primal Sargerite for one of the Argus gems. This will let double gatherers turn Primal Sargerite into money, or other items they need, with ease.
That's it for patch 7.3.2 so far. There's still a 7.3.5 expected at some point, but likely not to be announced before BlizzCon.
